Welcome to MicroWiki
MicroWiki is the largest online encyclopædia about micronations, small and often rather eccentric nations that are unrecognised by the wider international community. The wiki is being continually improved and updated by 84,541 editors, with content being moderated by a small group of staff and funded by our generous Patrons. Since its creation on 27 May 2005, the site has grown to become the largest micronation-related website on the Internet, with a total of 239,951 pages and 39,936 articles, of which 133 have achieved good article status. Before you start editing, it is recommended that you take a look at our content disclaimer, basic rules of editing, and the nation page guide.

Indigenous nation
An indigenous nation is a secessionist territorial micronation in which Indigenous peoples claim pre-existing sovereignty over their parent macronation as a nation—a community (society) of people, usually composed of one ethnicity, possessing a roughly defined territory and government. Indigenous nations claim statehood under the presumption that their residents themselves are the pre-eminent legal authority of its claimed territory. As such, they are hard secessionist in nature and are far less likely to practice macronational privilege (the act of adopting a parent macronation's laws to avoid criminal persecution) compared to other micronations. They seldom participate in the intermicronational community. Most Indigenous nations are established in Australia within the context of the Australian Indigenous Sovereignty movements. (more...)
