The Bocean Confederation of the Principality of Xiyonland, (Xiyonese: Shiyonlan, Bocean Bocea'o) more commonly known as the land of Xiyong, and rarely also called Xiyongland, is a largely pacifist and spiritual micronation in the Tehachapi region of southern California, in the United States of America.[1] It is a key member of the United Micronations Of Scratch (UMNS). Xiyonland is a confederation of many united provinces with the capital, Xiyong District, being located within the province of Malianten. The oldest Xiyonese state was the First Bocean State (Unuk-i Boceá in the Xiyonese language), which gave rise to many different Xiyonese nations before arriving at the present.

Etymology

Xiyong is the word for the micronation in its native language, which is called Xiyonese. The exact history of the name is unknown, but the government affirms that this is the etymology: In Bocean, the predecessor to the spoken Xiyonese language, the name of the nation of Xiyong was "Kshiyon". It thus can be confirmed that the word's evolution went like this: Old Bocean *ksion > Bocean kshiyon > Old Xiyonese shiyon > Modern Xiyonese xiyong >

History

History of the Boceans

First Bocean State

The most ancient historically verified Xiyonese micronation was the Unuk-i Boceá (First Bocean State).[2] The Bocean people are said to have founded their nation around the year 2018 at the now-lost settlement known in Xiyonese historiography as Astanli, which became the capital. Boceans developed a unique love for the nature which surrouned them, and this is the time period in which most of Xiyonland's cultural identity formed, for example, this is when the pinecone became a symbol of the Xiyonese.

Golden Empire

By around the year 2020, the Bocean State was incorporated into the so-called Golden Empire, which stretched from the modern Xiyonese provinces of Bòlakio to Northern Malianten.[2] The Golden Empire, (Goldun Nong Tuk in Xiyonese) was not the strongest union, thus it lacked an effective defense. This showed during the Golden War, fought between the Golden Empire and an obscure regime often called the "Ryan Fort", which caused the Golden Empire to collapse.

Second Bocean State

The Golden Empire was replaced by Inkban-i Boceá, the second Bocean State, whose capital was located at Shion Town, modern day Xiyong District. The Inkban-i Boceá is where the first Xiyonese script emerged, and the identity of the people of Xiyonland had fully formed by this point. However, the Boceans became more "Shionized" following this point, after which the people stop being truly Bocean.

History of the Xiyonese

Three Kingdoms of Xiyong

By early 2021, the second Bocean state split up into three successor states: Shion, the spiritual successor, Pan, and The Queendom of Koshka. All three of the nations were initially on good terms with one another, with evidence of trading between the three clear.

East and West Nations

Koshka imperialized, which generated controversy from her sister nations. Shion and Pan decided to watch to see what the Koshkan Empire would do, though when Koshka conquered lands in the modern province of Bolakio, the leaders of Shion and Pan had a meeting to address Koshkan expansionism, forming the Shiopan Dynasty for protection. Despite initial victories against Koshkan forces, the union did not stop Koshka from annexing Pan before the end of the year.

Koshkan War

After the Koshkan annexation of Pan, Shion was the last independent province in the traditional territories of Xiyong. The Shionese were fearful that they were next. So, the state of Shion, not wanting to die without a fight, declared war on the Koshkans. They initially failed in their offensive, but gained the upper hand when it cut through Koshkan defense lines, taking Pan as a dependency. 2022 was spent on the war with Koshka.

Enshonese Republic

In Xiyong, the new name of the country, the party that was now in charge of the Xiyonese state was the Enshonese Republic of Xiyong, due to the fact that it was now under the rule of the Enshonese Party. By the end of 2022, Xiyong had ended the imperialist rule of Koshka, making it a puppet state. Xiyong also engaged in its first micronational relations when they joined the United Micronations of Scratch, however this community was a breeding ground of amateur and often fictional nations run by inexperienced young children. Despite this, Xiyonland grew as a serious micronation dedicated to its own distinct culture

The Principality

In early 2023, the Enshonese Government was replaced by the Principality, a semi-monarchy. During this period, Xiyonland expanded, taking Monlao and Tehachapi as new regions. It created many reforms, such as the creation of a currency (the Munte) and other important steps to becoming an advanced micronation.

The Bocean Confederation (Bocea'o)

Taking the new name of Bocea'o, Xiyonland entered the present state it is in. Bolakio is the newest district founded in Xiyonland.

Politics and government

The Xiyonese government is headed by a prince. At the current time, it is ruled by Sy IV. Below the prince are the constituent Dictators. There is one in Shinko and one in Koshka. These three are solely responsible for all branches of the government.

Early government

Before the Enshoni Government took over, Xiyong was an absolute monarchy, and before that, it was probably a tribal confederation.

Enshonese Government

The Enshonese ideology is a moderate-left-wing ideology where the president is in charge. It was implemented in 2022 during the summer and replaced in February 2023 by the modern government.

Prince

The Prince of Xiyonland is the head of state and one of three heads of government in the Principality of Xiyonland. The Prince is nominally in charge of the whole micronation of Xiyonland, however, he holds exclusive power over Malianten Province, the location of the capital of Xiyong. As for the other provinces, he has to share power with the other two heads of government, and with them, he is allowed to perform duties from all three branches of government.

Sy IV

Sy IV (born 11 November 2009) is the current Prince of Xiyonland. But despite his moniker as the "fourth" prince named Sy, he is the only prince of Xiyonland to ever have named Sy.

Constituent Dictators

There are two Constituent Dictators in the Principality of Xiyonland. In Shinko, dictator Jo, brother of Prince Sy, rules. The other is the dictator of Koshka, named Si, sister of Sy and Jo. The Dictators are, along with the Prince of Xiyong, solely responsible for carrying out functions of all three branches of government. While having the title of "dictators," these officers are not radicals, usurpers, or military generals, but rather a more fitting title would be "oligarchs" who represent their own provinces.

Political parties

The Principality of Xiyonland has never truly been under the rule of a political party, however, all of the government leaders accept the leftist ideals of the old Enshonese party.

Geography and climate

Xiyonland is located in the forested areas of the Tehachapi region in California. The territory of the micronation is divided into three main regions, the regions of Fumak, Monlao, and Tehachapi. Fumak, or the "mainland" of Xiyonland, contains the main administrative districts of Xiyong, Koshka, and Shinko. In the region of Monlao, which is the most geographically diverse place in Xiyonland, there exists the "big rock," a geological formation, and Huolan, land scorched by a wildfire in the past. The region of Tehachapi is by far the largest of the Xiyonese regions and contains much natural resources.

Economy

Not much is known about the Xiyoni economy. Some major companies within Xiyonland include Atali, which was founded during Boceo and makes varying products, Konaruna, a leading producer of art, and Shinkonese Game Production Service. The currency of Xiyonland is called Munte (MOON-tay) and the standard for Munte is in pinecones.

Culture

Xiyonland is well known for its spirituality, pacifism, and vegan cuisine. Examples of Xiyonese foods include Shinkonese Pear Bacon, Jeuna, and Koshkan Salad. Koshkan citizens have a special love for cats, as displayed on the province's flag.

Languages of Xiyong

Xiyonland is a diverse place linguistically, with many languages and dialects. The primary languages of Xiyonland are Xiyonese, and its ancestor the Bocean Language, typically spoken during the old states of Boceo, today preserved as a sort of literary language. The anthem, "Blohh Tal Haplohh" is sung in Bocean. Xiyonese is made up of many dialects, including Shinkonese which is often written with Japanese Katakana. Xiyonese itself is an alphabetic system derived from the earlier Bocean logography.

Xiyonese Media

Xiyonland has a service of TV called TV Xiyoni that was developed by the Xiyoni Government and the government of the Republic of Bradenland, as well as the magazine "The Xiyoni."
