The 2022 House Hold general election was held on 2 April 2022 to elect members of the 15th parliament of House Hold which consisted of the election of all 25 members of the House of Representatives. The following election was held in 2023.

The one-term Liberal government, led by Prime Minister Enia Hyena was defeated by the opposition Labor Party, led by Rufus Wolf who had served as Leader of the Official Opposition since November 2021. The election took place during the COVID-19 pandemic and the count was delayed because of the pandemic. The election was called at 8:00 pm EST, relatively early on the night despite the close result between Labor and the Liberals. The election resulted in only the eighth change in government in the history of House Hold and was the first election that Rufus Wolf held his seat as leader, Wolf had lost his seats while leading Labor in the 2018 and June 2020 elections. Rufus Wolf also became the first Prime Minister to serve 4 non consecutive terms. Despite of the defeat of Enia Hyena's Liberal government, the party completed it's longest period in government ever.

Labor won 10 seats in the House of Representatives while the Liberals won only 6 seats. Despite winning 4 or 16% more seats, Labor only won the first preference vote by 4.5%. The election saw Labor's second worst vote share in the parties voter share largely due to the strong results for the Green Party of House Hold and Democratic Party.

Background

The result of the 2021 House Hold general election was a Liberal Minority Government. The Liberals landed on 9 seats, Labor 7, the Greens 6, One Nation 2, and the Democratic Party 1. On the 21st of May the Green Party announced it's support for the new Liberal government. Two by-elections were held during the 14th parliament.
